In Shakespeare's classic tragedy, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is infuriated by his mother's marriage to his Uncle Claudius so soon after his father's death. When the ghost of his father appears and tells Hamlet that Claudius murdered him and demands revenge, Hamlet is torn between the action he feels he must take in the name of honor, and the hesitation he feels about such action. With its questions about morality, honor, and what makes a man, "Hamlet" has become one of the best-known works in English literature. Director Rich Ferraioli's swift-moving, minimalist production takes a new approach to this classic, with cross-gendered casting and an ensemble-based ideology that creates a different type of theatrical experience. Hamlet is the third of our Dark Ages Season tragedies following "Dr Faustus" and "Antigone". The cast of The Queens Players production of "Hamlet" includes company members Rony Lee Goffer, Shelleen Kostabi, Daniel Smith, Claire Morrison, and Kirsten Anderson, with guest actors TJ Clark, Kirk Gostkowski, Alyssa Van Gorder, Tony Scheinman, Henry Packer, John Michael Marrs, Ross Pivec, John Curtis, Michael Eisenstein, and Lindsay Mack.
