Come see our working Guillotine!!
This the fourth in our series of Grand Guignol productions. We proudly present three gems translated from the original French and one original play in the classic genre of The Grand Guignol. Theatre of Horror closes on Halloween night with The Queens Players 3rd Annual Halloween Costume party.

T
he
original tradition of Guignol called for a ‘hot and cold’ shower
of equal parts comedy, eroticism and bloody climaxes. We embrace
this with four different plays. In ‘Chop Chop [or The Guillotine]’
the museum curator admires his new exhibit, the gruesome instrument
that has dispatched many a fine head. When an adulterous wife
suggests to her lover that they spice things up and make love on
Madame Guillotine the cuckolded husband seizes his chance. ‘The
Lighthouse Keepers’ explores with tragic results how a father and
son team that tend to the lighthouse will cope with the realization
that the son has contracted Rabies and is going mad. In ‘Tics’ we
see the lighter side of Guignol, a bickering husband and wife await
their dinner guests. All the guests have a guilty secret, which they
involuntarily reveal. Finally, ‘Touch of Death’ deals with
madness and grief. Balthazar Pepin believes that his dead wife’s
touch has diseased his flesh and that he must amputate the afflicted
limb. Dr Chance and Dr Strang follow this strange patient to his
home and a thrilling gory climax
