The Queens Players are delighted to announce Act Three: One Act The 2008 Long Island City One Act Festival which features 12 plays in two programs from 10 writers featuring 9 different directors and a hugely talented cast of 34 NY actors. Tickets are $15 or if you want to see all the plays you can buy a double ticket for the bargain price of $20!

There will be a prize for the winning playwright which will be announced at the after party on the closing night of the festival on February 2 which will also feature both programs in two shows one at 6pm and another at 8pm. So for theatre lovers who wish to see all the plays in ‘one sitting’ the final night is one option. Alternatively, see the publicity or our website for details on which program/plays are playing on which date and also for the running order.

This year’s festival is co-chaired by The Queens Player’s company members, Rich Ferraioli and Katie Braden; the Artistic Producer is QP founder and Secret Theatre’s Artistic Director, Richard Mazda. We are delighted to present such a huge array of stunning talent, which will give much needed exposure to new work from a great selection of playwrights. Our directors feature QP company members such as Rich Ferraioli, Katie Braden, Dave Fink and Chris Jobin alongside Don Nguyen [Public Theatre’s Emerging Writers Group], Marc Weitz, Nathan Willis, Allison Smith and Greg Cicchino.

We are also having a free wine tasting event on Jan 14th from 6pm 9pm hosted by our friends at Court Square Wine and Spirits. The evening will also feature a preview of one of the plays from the festival; ‘Multiple Choice’ which features Rachel Nau, Jamie Birkett and Chris Cornwell in a great comedy by Jack Karp and directed by Marc Weitz will be performed between 7 – 7.30 at Court Square Wine and Spirits.
